There’s this great meat shop here in TaiPo HongKong which sells high quality steak for a great price, I fill up my stock there, but the on thing is they sometimes closes on random dates. I ran out of meat, I went to the store and it’s closed. The old me would just eat whatever and wait till it’s open tomorrow right? But I have standards now, I must eat the best food that is best for my body. Then I started looking for the 2nd best meat store, yes the meat quality is not as good but guess what, I kept my standards and got good food in.
This is a great mindset when applied to life and art. losers will just give up when things don’t go their way(which they never do.) When working with clients, 99 times out of 100 they won’t choose the best sketch you offered. By knowing this be sure to put a few 2nd best in the mix, Even you can’t work on your best idea, you are still on your way pushing forward owning the second best.
